Pet Food Portion Calculator
“Feed 1–3 cups” on the bag isn't a plan. Enter your pet's weight, life stage, and your food's calories per cup (printed on every bag) for a real starting number.
Starting-point estimate using the veterinary RER formula (70 × kg^0.75 × life-stage factor). Individual needs vary ±25% — adjust based on monthly body-condition checks and confirm with your vet, especially for puppies, kittens, and weight-loss plans.
How to use the number
Treat the result as day one, not gospel: feed it consistently for two weeks, then do the body-condition check— ribs easily felt, waist visible. Trending plump: cut 10%. Trending thin: add 10%. Remember treats count inside the total (the 10% treat rule), and growing puppies and kittens should be portioned with your vet's input at each growth stage.
